Please limit travel to Hickory Island Yesterday at around 3 p.m., we experienced a power outage in the building. Fortunately, power was restored around 4 a.m. this morning.
The damage to our condo was limited to water and sand in the pool and sand on the pavers. There was no substantial damage to our building.
There is sand on Hickory Blvd, and workers have started to remove it. According to Suzanne, they are not allowing people on Hickory Blvd because of the sand and the workers. Update on Outage Alerts during Helene
Our restoration workforce is in place and ready to respond as Helene approaches Florida. This storm’s high winds and heavy rain are expected to damage power lines and equipment, causing outages. In times of extreme weather, our process changes in how we handle large-scale outages. During the restoration, you'll receive one daily email update about the restoration progress in place of personalized outage alerts. For the most up-to-date information about your account, visit our website or download the FPL Mobile App. We understand how much you depend on electricity. Rest assured, our crews will work around the clock to restore service safely and as quickly as possible. ATTENTION CB1 Owners:
Due to the approaching tropical storm Helene, we advise taking the following precautions: 1). Remove all vehicles today by 2:00 to higher ground - do not leave vehicles in our parking lot today and tomorrow. 2). All condo unit sliders and windows should be locked, hurricane shutters should be closed, and the water should be shut off if the unit is unoccupied. The elevators will be shut off today at 2:00 pm. |
