Loss Of Use Insurance coverage

1/22/2023

Private insurance:   We have received information from two owners.
One owner provided information on the process for recovering LOSS OF USE reimbursement.  The bottom line is the insurance company will not pay “Loss of Use”.   Most of the damage to our building infrastructure was caused by water although we all know there was also quite a bit of damage by Wind as evidenced by the damage to the roof, broken shutters, jammed doors and windows and car port damage, etc. The insurance companies are concluding we cannot occupy our building because of Flood Damage.  In most if not all cases, Flood Insurance does not offer Loss of Use coverage.

Another owner had damage to the shutters in their unit and their insurance gave them money for new shutters.

We don't know how your insurance and insurance adjuster will address the above issues; we are just sharing information.
